04/16/12 The first (of two) Steve Wozniak (Apple Computer co-founder) western Woodstock-inspired major rock festivals with an impressive band line-up and production venue! The Grateful Dead had the rise and shine Sunday breakfast time-slot. Bill Graham and all of the bands were flown in via helicopter ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_Festival. There has to be video/films somewhere that document these enormous events ~ of which offered four on-stage, live cam viewing screens that were huge. Unless I'm mistaken, the state-of-the-art sound system was all designed by the Grateful Dead!

...And the undeserved rub on the Grateful Dead that they sucked at the BIG shows like Monterey and Woodstock.
Here, another marvelous notch on the barrels.
Pause.
The Grateful Dead never did a bad show.

Never seen this rango source in circulation previously.
Compared to his other legendary pulls of acoustic FOB perfection, this doesn't seem to have all the stars aligned. it's as good or better than many of the audiences on the site but the big stadium pa just didn't deliver. The bass is a little thin, vocals have a bit of echo, and the sound doesn't have the same punch as some smaller venues the boys were playin in the day. Could have been the festival acoustics that just didn't....
The show itself is descent, and takes place during a very strong period of touring
